I read a story this morning about a lady who was dying and no matter what she did, she just couldn’t make her body better. Then she realized that what she was missing was the tenacity to live fully conscious and present in her life. Once she had that realization, things began to shift for her.
After reading her story, the first question that came up for me was, “What am I living for?” When we ask this question, most people respond with, “I’m living for my kids, my grandkids, to help humanity, to leave something behind for others, among other things.” It’s indeed a noble reason to live, and are you remembering to include yourself in that equation?
What if living for YOU, first and foremost, gave you access to living a life of legacy because of you simply being who you are?
When you start realizing that your life is a precious jewel that shines with much opulence and brilliance, you cannot help but embody the true essence of your being, and your life becomes a miracle that gives hope and courage to others who may have forgotten about their own brilliance.
So this morning when I asked myself, “what am I living for?” I had to really think as to not answer some surface-level answer. Here are some things that spark my heart when I really think about this question ~
I’m living to enjoy the wonderful family I created
I’m living to enjoy the beauty on this planet earth
I’m living to enjoy the friendships in my life
I’m living to enjoy the collaboration with other beings
I’m living to honor the force that moves and creates everything in the universe, including me
I’m living because I said YES to experiencing all there is for me to experience at this time
And one day when it’s my time to go, I will be going knowing that I have lived purposefully all of those things I deemed important to me, and I will have fulfilled the vow I made to myself and to the Creative Force to live life to the fullest.
How amazing it is to live a life with no regrets, and to know that you being here has made an impact larger than you will ever know. Your life will create the ripples that will touch the very hearts of those still living in the shadows of their fear, even if to show them what’s possible. And whether they choose possibility or not, it’s not your burden to carry because you were being everything you CHOSE to be.
Live well. Love unconditionally. Laugh with your whole belly. And know that by you living authentically in your heart – however that looks like – is all that is required to live a fulfilled and happy life.
So, what are you living for?
To those in the States, I’m wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful Thanksgiving. May you recognize all the blessing in your life.
Love always ~
